The reviewer positions Edwards’ work as fundamentally philosophical, noting that the poems operate less as decorative language and more as a mode of inquiry. The critique points to his use of Luganda titles and Ugandan imagery as a defining strength, observing that these elements “pull poetry down from its ivied tower” and root the collection in lived experience. Together, these observations form the clearest indication that the MSN review treats Edwards’ poetry as an investigative art rather than an ornamental one.
